Left Hemiplegic Patient with Porencephalic Cyst

Abstract
Cavitation within the cerebral hemisphere may be the result of a developmental abberation or injury from a variety of sources. The term encephaloclastic porencephaly is the destructive lesions, especially for single, cystic cerebral lesion
whereas
schizencephaly is used for the former lesions or developmental malformation. Porencephaly result consisting most commonly from vascular occlusion of hypoxic-ischemic insult. Causes cited less commonly include focal encephalitis, trauma, and
ventricular
puncture.
We have documented recently the evolution of such an subdural hematoma into a porencephalic cyst result in left hemiplegia in childhood. Inspite of the large right hemispheric lesions, he showed nearly normative intelligence, visuospatial
ability,
visual function, and auditory function.
